Curriculum
Our signature Korean Class is a 5-session immersive experience designed to help students connect with Korean language and culture in a joyful, hands-on way. Rather than textbook-heavy instruction, our curriculum focuses on conversation, exploration, creativity, and cultural connection. Each session centers on a distinct theme, allowing students to engage naturally through games, crafts, food, music, and storytelling.
We currently offer three separate classes by age group:
Grades 3–6 (Elementary)
Grades 7–9 (Middle School)
Grades 10–12 (High School)
All age groups follow the same thematic arc, but the content and pace are adjusted to ensure developmental and linguistic appropriateness.
Session 1: Meet Korean
Students begin their journey by learning basic greetings and self-introductions. They create name tags using Hangul, play name-based icebreaker games, and participate in fun activities like "Pass the Greeting"—a toy ball game where students practice saying their names and asking, "What’s your name?" Younger students might engage in Hangul tile matching, while older students decode Hangul patterns and take part in fast-paced speaking drills. The goal is to ease them into Korean with confidence and curiosity.

Practice asking and answering “What’s your name?” in Korean
Younger students: Hangul tile matching
Older students: Decode Hangul patterns, speed drills
Session 2: Family & Friends
This session centers around relationships and emotions. Students build a simple Korean family tree, learning words like 엄마 (mom), 아빠 (dad), 언니 (older sister), 형 (older brother), and more. To personalize it, they color and decorate emotion cards and act out emotion-based charades. Middle and high schoolers engage in more complex pair dialogues about how they’re feeling, using phrases like "기분이 어때요?" and respond with full sentences. It’s a day of emotional literacy and cultural nuance.

Session 3: Let’s Eat!
Food is always a hit! Students explore popular Korean dishes and food-related expressions. They draw their dream Korean lunchboxes, participate in food vocabulary games, and do a Korean snack taste test—practicing how to express taste and preference in Korean. Elementary students might say, “김밥이 맛있어요!” while high schoolers will be asked to compare tastes or create short food reviews. Everyone leaves this class a little more full and a lot more fluent.

Session 4: Explore Through Music
This high-energy session uses K-pop and Korean music culture as a language learning tool. Students identify favorite K-pop groups, design their own idol band, and play games using Korean commands (e.g., 멈춰! 뛰어!). Middle and high school students might break down K-pop lyrics to find familiar words and phrases or remix simple lines using vocabulary they’ve learned. For younger students, we use guessing games and dancing to reinforce common expressions and motion-based language.

Session 5: My Community
In the final session, we tie it all together. Students go on a mini culture scavenger hunt, use Korean in team games, and prepare a mini-presentation. Elementary students share their name, favorite word, and a cultural item they liked. Middle and high schoolers are encouraged to express their dreams, identities, or Korean interests in short reflective projects. We celebrate the growth of each student, reinforcing what they’ve learned through peer sharing, confidence building, and joyful expression.

Our curriculum is designed not just to teach Korean, but to rekindle the Korean spirit inside each child—whether they’re learning Korean for the first time or reconnecting with their heritage. It’s playful yet thoughtful, immersive but always age-appropriate, and most importantly, fun.
We believe that culture and language are best learned together—in laughter, in motion, and in community.
